Scientists in Tel Aviv have used human cells to 3D print a fully operational human heart. While the heart is not quite fully developed – the cells can contract but they do not make the strong pumping action that hearts use – this is a major step on the way to personalised medical treatments that will also end the need for organ donations. Soon we will be able to mend all the broken hearts in the world!
