Legend has it that a stiff drink will keep you warm but the opposite is true. Any drinker knows the warm glow felt after a shot of brandy or whisky so it's easy to see how this myth arose. However, sadly this glow is actually the result of blood vessels near the skin widening and carrying heat out of the body, cooling the drinker.
