Bat experts in Belarus have been busy helping bats survive hibernation by placing them upside down in a fridge until spring arrives. In this way they are simulating cave conditions, as some bats are unable to properly hibernate in their natural habitats, which can be fatal for them. This act of kindness can help preserve the bat population in Minsk, which will be taken out the fridge and waken up with a nice breakfast when temperatures increase.
