Coco de mer, the world's biggest seed

The coco de mer, otherwise known as the sea coconut or, more troublingly, the love nut, is the enormous seed of palms indigenous to the Seychelles - the largest seed in the plant kingdom. Before Seychelles were discovered, there was plenty of legends trying to explain the presence of these nuts in some other shores (taken by currents, but from where? From undersea trees maybe?).Typically measuring at 50cm, the fruit's archaic name Lodoicea callipyge derives from the Greek word for 'beautiful buttocks' due to its peculiar shape.
