Elephants don't need to jump to defend from enemies

Dumbo could fly, but could he jump? Apparently not, or at least once he grew up anyway. That's right, adult elephants can't jump. The way that their bones develop mean they don't have the ability to 'spring'. As jumping is thought to have evolved to keep us safe from predators, elephants use other things to stay safe, such as their massive size, so, they just don't need to!
