According to a 12-month study conducted by Professor Mark Tjoelker in Australia, trees sweat in extreme temperatures, releasing moisture just like humans in a bid to keep cool. It was discovered that the trees lost moisture in the afternoons, but they also stopped taking in carbon when a heatwave stuck. This could have alarming implications if the Earth continues to warm up at the rate predicted.
