Horsetail Fall, fire glowing waterfall

  • Horsetail Fall fire glowing waterfall
The sunset hits the fall just right to create a glow

You've heard of waterfalls, but what about glowing waterfalls in Yosemite National Park? Back in 1872, a yearly summer tradition of throwing hot embers over Horsetail Fall created the illusion of a glowing waterfall. However, the falls glow naturally in the winter and spring, not because of embers, but because of the setting sun hitting the falls just right and creating a red and orange glow.
