AI products Alexa, Cortana and Siri all have a female voice because research shows we react positively to it. However, when choosing a product's voice, manufacturers could be alienating some users. This is where "Q" , the genderless voice, comes in. Pitched midway between the female and male voice, 4,500 testers could not tell which gender "Q" belonged to. Development lead, Copenhagen Pride, hope "Q" will be used in all future AI projects to promote inclusivity.
