The cost of city housing is making urban living too expensive for a new generation internationally but backers of a prototype solution believe it will allow redundant water pipelines to be recycled to provide low-cost housing in tiny parcels of land. James Law, of Hong Kong, said in 2017 that his sections of pipe can be stacked to accommodate a couple for just $15,000 per unit.
