A study carried out by Angela Guirao and Ingrid Ramon in 2016 discovered that dogs can detect certain cancers in humans. Looking specifically at lung cancer, a specially trained Labrador/Pitbull mix managed to successfully sniff out cancer in patients’ breath. Even in early stages of the disease when it is usually more difficult to diagnose. More proof that dogs truly are man’s best friend.
