Despite impressive advancements in medical technology, cancer still challenges the science. But its reign of terror might soon be coming to an end. Through a process called metastasis, cancer spreads throughout the body from the original tumor. Researchers from the University of Basel, led by Professor Nicola Aceto, have discovered a drug that has been remarkably effective to halt metastasis: The key here is to divide the cancer cells so they can't progress further nor spread the disease. Cancer might just have met its match.
