Pikasso guitar played by Pat Metheny

In 1984, when US jazz musician Pat Metheny asked Canadian instrument maker Linda Manzer to build him a guitar with as many strings as possible, she packed in 42 strings arranged on four necks. These four necks ran in several directions, prompting her to christen the harp-like instrument, which features on several Metheny albums, the Pikasso guitar after the famous Spanish surreal artist Pablo Picasso.
