Anyone with more than a passing interest in space programmes will be fascinated by the potentials offered by Stratolaunch. This enormous plane, powered by six Boeing 747 engines, will work as an airborne rocket launcher. The first client is already signed up and plans to use the plane to launch its own rockets, which send satellites into space. Currently in the testing stage, Stratolaunch's Californian makers aim to have it operational by the end of 2019.
