Many teachers must wish they could exploit their pupils' love of pop music to teach them something useful but, back in the '60s, one professor of English was doing just this. Juan Carrion, a huge fan of the Beatles, used the lyrics from his favourite group to help his students learn English. He then went one better, meeting John Lennon and asking him if the Beatles' album covers couldn't print the lyrics to the songs. Coincidentally or not, subsequent album jackets came complete with the words Professor Carrion had requested.
