Uncombable hair syndrome is caused by a mutation usually developed in childhood. Triangular shafts of blonde or silver hair grow out from the scalp in multiple directions — creating a look like that of Doc Brown from Back to the Future. While appearing dry and frizzy, the hair is perfectly healthy and typically improves by adolescence.
