In an ever-progressing world where peculiarity is celebrated, Eh’häusl, the world’s smallest hotel, winks wittily at the leisure seeker in Amberg, Germany. This petite wonder was built in 1728 as a means for young couples to circumvent the strict landowner marriage laws of the time (they had to own a property to be allowed to marry!). Occupying around 20 square metres between two neighbouring houses, Eh’häusl has since evolved into a world-class luxury retreat, open to public.
