It’s not La La Land, but the concept of Wayaland is fanciful, all the same. Italian architect Pierpaolo Lazzarini proposes a self-sufficient, floating community made up of pyramid-shaped “Waya” modules, apparently inspired by Mayan architecture. Wayaland was still at the concept stage with a view to opening in 2022, so it remained to be seen if the proposal held water.
