Unbelievable though it may sound, some people actually hug pandas for a living. At Wolong National Nature Reserve near Chengdu, staff play the role of giant panda mothers. They wear adult panda costumes, and play with the unbearably cute little creatures all day long. It’s a necessary precaution, keeping interaction with humans to a minimum and preparing the cubs for survival in the wild.
