Austria's Grüner See is nestled amongst the Hochschwab Mountain range, where during the warm summer months, its snowy surfaces melt and deepen the Green Lake. Consequently, scuba divers have been able to swim over trees, benches, and the grassy meadows below. The natural beauty of the lake and surrounding mountains is still open to the public, but unfortunately scuba diving has been banned since 2016.
