Cats always land on their feet and now, thanks to engineer Philip Frenzel, so can your phone! Frenzel's invention uses 8 metal springs, or 'feet', that are normally tucked away, but pop out when the phone detects it is falling. A soft landing follows, and the springs can be hidden away again for extra lives.
