If you’re scared of flying, avoid flights to Courchevel in France. The runway there is one of the most dangerous in the world. There are no lights to guide pilots in and the tarmac is only 537 metres long, one of the shortest built. To help slow aircraft down on landing, it has a 19% uphill gradient. Take-off is just as terrifying with full throttle needed just to get the wheels off the ground in time. So the plane either takes off or falls off the cliff!
