Astronauts enjoy the companionship of robot pets

Space travel is undoubtedly a uniquely exciting experience, but can become quite lonely, particularly for solo astronauts or small crews. However, they can now enjoy extra companionship from robots, which provide technological support but also act as substitute pets. Kirobo, for example, a cute baby-faced robot, is a favourite on the International Space Station. They bring great comfort but are terrible at fetching the newspaper.
