The Beetham Tower is only the second tallest in Manchester, but it sure is the most noisy. Because of a glass blade on its roof, windy weather causes this tower to hum loud enough to be heard 300 meters away. Many say it sounds like an alien spacecraft landing. The whistling was an accident rather than a feature and, actually, in 2012 the architect apologized for the noise. After all, he also had an apartment there and knew why people felt disappointed.
