A new world record was set when more than 1,300 drones were flown in a choreographed display above the Chinese city of Xi'an in May 2018. The effort by Ehang Egret, drone manufacturer, was recognised by inspectors from Guinness World Records as the most unmanned aerial flown at the same time. Lights on the drones, like pixels is the night sky, were used to display moving images in what may become a new style of advertising.
