Situated in central Scotland, the Falkirk Wheel is a truly remarkable feat of modern engineering. It is, in fact, the one and only rotating boat lift in the world and connects the higher Union Canal with the lower Forth and Clyde Canal. Rising to a height of 115 feet, the huge functional sculpture is, quite rightly, one of the most popular tourist attractions in Scotland. The only doubt is if it can also be used to go down!
