Rumours that Apple have expanded into fire prevention with a new i-Gel - have been greatly exaggerated! In fact, it is Eric Appel from Stanford University who has invented a fire retardant gel that, when sprayed over vegetation in areas at high risk of catching alight, will resist the elements, and so stay effective, temporarily but longer than anything else so far discovered. Take that forest fires!
