Isn't it annoying when your phone conversation is cut short due to a battery running down after just an hour or so? This should no longer be an issue thanks to the work of Mya Le Thai. A doctoral candidate at University of California, Mya Le Thai has (accidentally) found a gel to cover the fragile golden nanowires in the batteries and then avoid that they crack after few thousands of charging cycles. In this way, batteries last for approximately 400x longer than they do currently.
