Mathematically speaking, the Los Angeles police department recently trialled new software to improve their predictive policing strategy with great results. Using models based off of existing data, the software is able to produce statistics that can predict the where, when and what of crimes still yet to be committed. It seems 'The Force' are finally getting the Force after all!
