Michelangelo the Caravaggio

 
In 1601, the Italian painter Michelangelo Mesiri o Amerighi, also known as Il Caravaggio (1573-1610), was given the job of painting the death of the Virgin. To add some realism to his work, the painter used as a model a woman that had drowned in the Tiber river. When his clients came to know this fact,shocked, rejected the painting.
