Microsoft's Natick Project aims to locate their cloud datacentres underwater. The first and immediate benefit is the energy saving due to water temperature. By effectively putting 'the cloud' under the sea Microsoft believe they could actually reduce latency, and eventually provide a greener solution by powering the datacenters through tidal energy. Apparently even the fish like the idea, and quickly adapted to the presence of the test center.
