The Oasis of the Seas is one of the largest cruise ships in the world and it belongs
to the shipping company Royal Caribbean International. With a length of 361,45m
is only 5 cm less than his twin brother Allure of the Seas.
Its spectacular measures are as follows: It has a length of 361m, a beam of 47m and
a draft of 9.3m. There are a total of 16 decks, it can achieve a 97.000kW power and
its average speed is 22.6 knots (41,9km/h). For its construction, it took 500,000
individual pieces of steel. And to build this cruise it took 3,200 workers in several
24-hour shifts for 3 years. Its crew consists of 2,165 members and has a maximum
capacity of 6,400 passengers.
It has a total of 5,235 different cabins: with balconies, outdoor, indoor, with
additional beds... Like his twin brother, the cruise is also divided into districts,
each one with an approximate area of one and a half football fields. The districts
are: Central Park, designed for outdoor walks and Royal Promenade for inside
walks. On the other hand, we have Boardwalk for bars, restaurants and different
entertainment.
Like all luxury cruise ships, it also has: theaters with three or more decks, a spa, a
gym, a library, water parks, an ice skating ring, climbing walls, art galleries (with
over 7,000 different works), fancy restaurants ... surprisingly, it also has a helipad.
In short, the Oasis of the Seas provides a lot of different activities for you to enjoy
during your journey overseas.
Its facilities exceed those of any given cruise. The pool, for example, has the
following dimensions: 6.6m wide, 15.7m long and 5.4m deep. This makes it the
largest freshwater pool installed on a boat. Its gym includes machines with the
latest technology available. Furthermore, 10 of her hanging jacuzzis are
overlooking the ocean. For sports enthusiasts there are also a miniature golf, a
basketball court of official size and a 25m long zip line suspended over nine
decks.
Other interesting facts are about its construction. It has a total of 241km of pipes,
5,310km of electrical cable and the 21 different pools weight about 2,300 tons.
Surprisingly, they need about 50 tons of ice each day. As seen, everything related
to this cruise ship comes with gigantic proportions.

Its construction was completed on September 2009 and was carried out by the
company shipyard STX Europe, which are located in Finland. The Oasis of the Seas
