Although snails might not be the fastest creatures on the planet, they can still spread diseases and parasites to humans. This is why a satellite tracking programme was set in 2018 to closely follow their movements throughout Africa. Keeping abreast of their location could help to prevent future outbreaks. The good news is that these creatures are not likely "fall off of the radar" anytime soon.
