When a human or animal loses an eye it’s nothing short of disastrous, but when a snail loses an eye it’s no big deal, they’ll just grow a new one. Not that eyesight matters all that much with snails as they are fairly blind and deaf for that matter. Rather than seeing their food, they smell it, often from meters away. Considering the size of the snail, that’s quite an achievement.
