Vampire squid might sound scary and not look the prettiest, but they have the coolest escape plan of any super hero you have ever heard of! They do not resort to mundane clouds of ink like octopi nor do they go into for smokescreens like James Bond. Instead they throw out a cloud of sticky bioluminescence mucus from the tips of their tentacles that glows, clinging to any predators for a good ten minutes or so. Plenty of time for a daring squid escape.
