In a world that frequently refuses to make sense, what more appropriate subject for the fast-moving research area of neuroscience than the humble snail? The University of California has discovered that repeated, "physically jarring" exposure to sensitization leads to a specific response in a snail. Their RNA molecules were injected into untrained snails, and they reacted to the sinister stimulus in exactly the same way.
