One of the more bizarre phenomena in the animal kingdom is the consumption of “cecotropes” or “night feces” – a nutrient-rich substance formed in the digestive system of certain mammals, which is then produced with regular feces (i.e. poop). Rabbits are part of this group of animals that is known for eating their droppings at night. As a pet owner, you should not be alarmed, as this is normal behaviour because their digestion can't absorb all nutrients on the first go.
