Burundi's president passed a controversial law, making group jogging a crime. Pierre Nkurunziza outlawed the practice in March 2014 after he began to suspect that running was being used as a cover for political plotting. It could seem quite likely that the suggestion was put to him by a minister who was desperate for an excuse to avoid exercise.
