Floodwaters in the Australian town of Ayr presented an unexpected obstacle when tropical cyclone Debbie washed ashore a five foot-long bull shark. Although bull sharks are sometimes found in rivers, this is thought to be the first time one has been found ten kilometres inland, and on a flooded road. Sadly for the shark, although perhaps not for those trying to navigate the floodwaters, the shark did not survive its stranding.
