From a distance, Lake Hillier in Australia has a shocking pink hue, and even up close the colour is clearly there. Nature loves to play tricks on us, and this spectacular lake looks like it belongs in Barbie World. The water is thought to be pink due to tiny algae Dunaliella salina and some other bacteria. Sadly, despite how nice the lake is, the island is used for research purposes only, so as a visitor you will have to admire it from afar.
