If dogs had a bird cousin, it would be the Kiwi bird, the only bird in the world to be blessed with nostrils at the end of its beak. This allows it to sniff out lunch, well, along with everything else in the mud... As a bird's beak is measured from the end of the nostrils to the tip, the kiwi's beak is surprisingly the shortest in the world!
