It is estimated that a third of all adults suffer from ophidiophobia, so it would seem that Indiana Jones’s famous fear of snakes isn’t as far-fetched as you might believe. The irony, however, is that not all reptile-like creatures are snakes. Legless lizards exist and although these creatures resemble snakes, they are distinguishable by possessing eyelids, external ear openings and a notched tongue.
