The lungfish is one of the few species of fish that can breathe air and survive when lakes get dry. Scientists believe that they are a surviving relic of creatures that existed millions of years ago and that its fins were probably once used for walking. They can grow as large as 1.5 metres; that would give you a fright popping out of the water and strolling up your way!
