On one level they show a great wisdom in always waiting until they have a partner to share the burden of starting a family. However, sadly, pigeons' lack of intelligence is betrayed by the fact that sometimes just her own reflection in a mirror is enough to convince a bird she has found a reliable mate and reassure her she can lay her egg.
