The Port Jackson shark is one of the shark species which lay eggs. Actually, no other egg can quite compare to the bizarre pinecone-grenade shape of their egg capsules. At first they are quite soft, but become harder as the time passes by. Their young emerge from dark brown, twisty coccoon-like structures which are laid in pairs over August and September, after about ten months.
