Purple frog found again after one century

Purple frog

The purple frog was considered extinct for a century until Sathyabbama Das Biju found it living in 6 meters deep burrows in Southwest India. Its tiny head appears too short for its large, bloated body. Its other strange features include tiny eyes, a snout that ends in a protrusion remembering a turtle and short limbs perfect to dig. Besides its call sounds like a chicken, so altogether it's easy to recognise this peculiar animal.
