Famously voted as the world's ugliest animal, it seems even blobfish themselves don't find each other attractive. Their low rate of reproduction is one of the reasons scientists believe that in 2018 there were fewer than 500 of these sad-looking fish left in their usual 3,000-feet-deep ocean habitat. Ironically, their new unattractive notoriety means there are now more blobfish on t-shirts than real specimens living in the wild, which we hope that changes soon.
