Visit "Kupa-pita" , the 'boy's watering hole'. With a name derived from aboriginal, "Coober Pedy" boasts red sky dawns and dusks across an expanse of deserts, and a population of over 3500 who most inhabit underground dugouts. This town must be the only place worldwide where sleeping in a cavern, finding opals and playing golf with glowing balls at night are normal. By the way, they've got the world's only golf course with reciprocal rights to play in St. Andrews!
