Which species' male carries pink eggs?

  • Leafy sea dragon
Males carry the pink eggs until they hatch

It's a kelp…it's a weed…it's a Leafy seadragon! Seadragons are the masters of camouflage thanks to their leaf-shaped appendages and perfect blend with the kelps and sea weeds. Male seadragons are rare Australian marine creatures that carry eggs after fertilisation for about a month until the hatchlings emerge into the water. The fertilisation process is fascinating as the females transfer eggs to the males’ tail and then freely go!
