They say that we all bleed red, but the Antarctic ice fish disagrees! Unlike the rest of us and the rest of fish, the Antarctic ice fish has no red blood cells, and stores little oxygen. Instead, scientists suggest, it uses the freezing cold Antarctic waters, full of oxygen, to keep itself alive. And they also suggest that this happened to solve a greater problem: the icefish's own genetic flaws! On the other hand, it needs a greater heart to deal with it.
