The misty rainforests of Central and South America conceal poison dart frogs, which are brilliantly coloured, showing their toxicity. But the funny bit is that only wild individuals are venomous, while the ones in captivity aren't. This is due to their different diet, as they get toxins from their food. These unique amphibians were named after the indigenous Amerindians’ practice of using toxic secretions to poison the tips of blow-darts.
